My ex roommate returns

Last night I had another dream about my ex roommate and ex friend. This time I decided to move myself to another city.

With the help of my grandmother (who is in real life not well enough to help in this capacity), I packed myself up in a moving truck and took myself to Corvallis, Oregon so I could attend school.

I got there and moved in with 3 other girls. One of which was my ex roommate. I don't know what in hell I was thinking. There is no way in hell this would ever work out. I guess I saw this too all too late when spending the first night there. The place was so small that I know 4 girls could not live there in any sort of comfort.

There were four very small bedrooms and we would all have our own space, but the living areas were just as small. The living room was right off each bedroom and the room you entered from the front door. The kitchen was right off the living room. The whole place had an open layout. Nothing partitioned off. All open. I didn't even see a kitchen table.

When my ex roommate and the other girl went to bed (I think it could have been the third roommate my roommate in real life let move in with us and what caused me initially to move out), I talked with the forth girl. I was already considering getting out of there like that night.

I asked how much the rent was and it was cheaper than what I paid with my ex roommate. Utilities were included. She said something about the food being separate. That made sense to me at the time.

I then got on the phone to my grandmother to tell her I was moving back. I'd only been there barely a day. I told her it wasn't going to work out. Even going to school just wasn't going to work. Interestingly, I was also signed up for classes and set to start the next day. How all that happened so quickly, I don't know.

My grandma said she wasn't surprised and thought I would come to that conclusion. She asked how much of my stuff was unpacked and I told her not much was. I could essentially just put everything back in a truck and leave.

I was figuring out the logistics of how I would move in one night when the dream ended.

No way would I move in with that bitch again. I don't truly dislike many people, but I despise her.

The stress dream returns

I had a couple of dreams last night.

A few months ago, I discovered what I had only guessed at for years. The dreams I've had about being back at school are stress related. I know that when I have them, it is always during a time of my life when I'm going through stress or doubting myself. So when someone told me they are typical stress dreams, I wasn't surprised.

Here's the one I had last night.

I was back in school and I had one particular class where the professor was psycho about attendance. If you missed one day, she's flunk you. I had decided to return to counseling and for some reason I can't figure out, I scheduled my appointment during this class. I guess this would also be my last appointment with her too.

I called and rescheduled and all was fine. But I also had a paper due in this class that I hadn't written and I didn't realize this until the day of class. No idea how that turned out, but next thing I know it's time for my appointment.

And I had scheduled this appointment during another class. I was also trying to figure out if I could still turn in my paper even though it was late. I guess I wrote it and had it done, but late.

I couldn't decide what to do about the paper, so I went with my grandmother (I think) to ShopKo. I had time before my appointment and I was looking for something.

I got there and went to the toy department where, I guess, the product was. Can't remember what I was looking for. They had the toy department blocked with these little kids dressed as little soldiers. A worker was at both ends of the row (I guess there's just one row for toys in my dream) and it looked like they were doing inventory.

I went to the customer service desk and said I wanted to file a complaint. I said that they had the row blocked. The woman said, "Oh, they close the toy department on Tuesdays. Didn't you see the sign?" I said I hadn't and she replied, "I'm surprised you didn't. It's right outside the store." I complained that this was ridiculous because apparently it was close to Christmastime and to have the toy department closed was like having the entire store closed.

I went back to shopping at another part of the store and counted off how many times ShopKo has screwed me over. Then ran into a guy in the watch department who was mentioning he was going to go look for something related to watches/kids in the toy department. I told him not to bother and that if it wasn't there, he wouldn't find it.

Then I realized I was 15 minutes late to my counseling appointment and I had scheduled this appointment during another class which I would be missing completely. I ran to try and catch my appointment. Never knew if I did or not.

A return to high school

The other night I had another high school dream. I don't know where these are coming from. Really, don't.

In this dream, it all seemed normal. For some reason, I was returning to high school. And I was scared, panicked or nervous at all. I drove myself and arrived in time for my early class. Just like my senior year. I had an early class before first period then. We called them A, B classes because the rest of the day was first period, second period and so on.

The year prior to the year I started high school, the administration decided to take out all of the lockers because a kid came to school with a gun. Their solution was to get rid of lockers so no one could hide anything. That only meant we all carried our backpacks all day. So I went to high school without lockers.

I was driving my my old high school the other day and noticed there were lockers in the hallways (at least what I could see from the road).

In my dream, I first couldn't find a parking spot. I went to the spot where my grandma used to pick me up after school. I thought I remembered a secret spot, but all the spots were marked as reserved or had a meter. My school was connected to the local recreation center and there was a parking lot that was specifically marked as not being parking for the high school. You could get towed for parking there. So, I checked all the spots and found nothing. Then I somehow got the car by the bike racks and then things got strange. Someone told me I couldn't park my car there, etc. He told me there were spots in the back.

I drove around to the back where I remember a lot of kids parked. Then I was on foot looking for my locker. Someone told me I could leave my backpack in the back of the school. There were a bunch of cubby holes and/or lockers at the back and everyone was swarming to them to get their stuff put away.

When I saw the crowd and that people were starting to stack their things on top of the lockers, I decided I'd just keep my things with me. Besides, I was already going to be late for my first class. I asked a girl next to me if they punish you for taking your backpack to class. She told me they didn't.

I decided to just go to class. My first class was math and I wasn't sure where the room was and I was already 10 minutes late. I went into the school and decided I had to find out why there weren't lockers. Because if people were scrabbling for a cubby hole or whatever, then there weren't lockers in the school. I started down the hall and came to where the lockers should have been. All that was there were some kind of bulletin boards the same size and shape as lockers.

And that's where it ended.
